The original production, which premiered in Seattle in 2019, pulled out all the stops by bringing in the best creative minds in the business. The production is led by director Jerry Zaks, with music supervision, arrangement, and orchestration by Ethan Popp, choreography by Lorin Latarro, scenic design by David Korins, and costume design by Catherine Zuber. Meanwhile, the musical’s breathtaking visuals feature the impeccable work of lighting designer Philip Rosenberg, while the aural experience is courtesy of sound designers Brian Ronan and Craig Cassidy.

“Soars from screen to stage” – The Times
“A Surefire hit… No Doubt!” – Daily Express
New York Stage Review commends the writers for making the musical up-to-date with the times. “The specifics of the story are largely but not entirely the same as in the 1993 movie. Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, who wrote the book, and Kirkpatrick and his brother, Wayne, who wrote the songs, update things to account for changing tolerance for jokes about men wearing dresses and gay people being outrageous makeup artists.” Meanwhile, the New York Daily News described Mrs. Doubtfire as “audience friendly and warm-centered.” Over at the Hollywood Reporter, Mrs. Doubtfire was praised for being a “feel-good, family-friendly musical comedy.” The publication’s writer, Frank Scheck, added, “You could feel the audience’s desire to relax and have a good time simply.”
